Most models of Seymour Duncan True Single Coil Stratocaster neck and bridge pickups are built with a standard polarity of South Up facing strings and counter-clockwise wind direction from ground (black eyelet) to hot (white eyelet).
RWRP Middle pickups are opposite of standard and have a North Up polarity and Clockwise wind direction, for hum-cancelling when the middle pickup is combined with either the neck or bridge pickup.
PLEASE NOTE:
The following models deviate from our standard polarity and wind directions, as they were based on particular historic pickup sets or specifications:
Antiquity Texas Hots with aged cosmetics are Neck and Bridge North Up, Clockwise wind with Middle RWRP being South Up, Counter-clockwise.
Antiquity Retrospec’d Texas Hots (with “new” covers) are Seymour Duncan Standard wind direction and polarity. Neck and Bridge are South Up, Counter-Clockwise wind, Middle RWRP is North Up, Clockwise wind.
Antiquity II Surfer Strats with aged covers are Neck and Bridge South Up, Clockwise wind direction. The Middle RWRP of this set is North Up, Counter-clockwise wind direction. These will be out-of-phase with other models of Seymour Duncan pickups.
Antiquity II Retrospec’d Surfer Strats (with new covers) are Seymour Duncan Standard wind direction and have bridge and neck South Up and Counter-clockwise wind, with middle pickup RWRP with North Up and Clockwise wind.
Jimi Hendrix Signature Strat pickups are built with North Up polarity and Clockwise wind direction for Neck, Middle, and Bridge models. Please notice that the middle pickup is not RWRP in the Jimi Hendrix Signature Set.
