Why do the mounting screws provided with my Seymour Duncan Telecaster neck pickup pass through the mounting holes? How do I mount it to my pickguard?

All of our Telecaster neck pickups come with screws that mount direct to the body, in the vintage style.

If your guitar has a pickguard mounted neck pickup, you can use a #4 wood screw (not provided) to tap into the forbon baseplate.
You will not need to enlarge the mounting hole with a #4 screw and the screw will self tap into the baseplate. We recommend a 7/8" length screw.

We do have black #4 wood screws available for this purpose. Please contact support@seymourduncan.com. Provide your name, shipping address and phone number in your email, as well as when and where you purchased your Seymour Duncan Telecaster neck pickup and we’ll send you some #4 wood screws.
