When checking a pickup for performance it is best to use an analog or digital multimeter. I prefer a digital as you can get the exact DC resistance of a pickup you are testing. The DC of a pickup can change depending on the temperature you are testing the pickups. Higher temperatures will give you a higher DC resistance and you need to use a temperature correction resistance factor chart that can be found on most magnet wire charts. If a pickup is 6.30 K at 95? degrees F, you divide 6.30 by 1.0590 (correction factor) and you get 5.949 K ohms at 68? degrees F.
